Welcome to Augusta, Kansas--get used to hearing it because the people you find here will be eager to say it. Upon entering our charming community, you will more than likely be flooded with the abounding character of the "downtown" area.  Walk or drive the historic brick streets to find not only our historic museum (based in the first area General Store) and the Augusta Theatre (found on a national historic registry), but also allow yourself to be sidetracked by an inviting array of shops and businesses, locally owned and operated. Some places you may taste the difference, while others leave you thirsting for more time--this same mystique soaks throughout the city limits. Our school system is top-notch, competing well against neighboring communities.  We boast several recreational parks, including the new Play Park Pointe, near the Augusta City Lake, just off of Ohio Street and the more established Garvin Park, on the opposite side of the lake. There's something for everyone from bowling to bass-fishing; cut loose and get lost in Augusta.
